The high of delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol (D8) is one that consumers have been reporting as being similar to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) for some time now. This is why the demand for D8 is continuing to increase. It’s also why some states are choosing to ban or restrict D8 processing and sales.
When it comes to rating the high of D8 on a scale from one to ten, there is no one rating that applies to every person. Cannabinoid science is a very individualized process. Cannabinoids, including D8, are affected by many physiological factors that are unique to each of us. Our endocannabinoid system, metabolism, and personal tolerance for cannabinoids are just a few of these factors that influence the effects we get from consuming D8 and other cannabinoids.
Consequently, rating the high of D8 on a scale from one to ten is going to be different for every person. Anecdotal evidence of consumers answering this exact question on Reddit shows almost 50 different answers. Ratings ranged anywhere from two to eight, demonstrating exactly how different the high may vary between people.
However, despite these differences in rating the D8 high, there is one consistent variable. Almost everyone seems to agree that D8 produces a high that can be compared to THC but is less potent. The D8 high has also been compared to the high from D10.
It’s not just the public that says D8 can get you high. The FDA even has a statement to the public that says “Delta-8 THC has psychoactive and intoxicating effects, similar to delta-9 THC (i.e., the component responsible for the “high” people may experience from using cannabis)”. Although their statement also warns about the potential dangers of D8, this statement goes to show that for most people, D8 will give you some sort of high effect. As for how that high is rated on a scale of one to ten, that’s something only you can decide.
